What are digital badges?
A digital badge is online recognition from a verified organization of the knowledge and skills acquired from taking a course or completing an activity. Global Knowledge has partnered with Pearson VUE to verify your accomplishments and issue you a digital badge, via the Acclaim platform, that you can digitally share your achievements in our courses.
Once you receive your digital badge, you can share it in your online profiles, such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, to ensure personal contacts, professional organizations and corporations are aware of your accomplishments and commitment to growth.
Why does Global Knowledge issue digital badges?
Global Knowledge believes in recognizing achievement and issues digital badges to validate demonstrated knowledge and skills.
Demonstrated knowledge badges are awarded for achieving 80% or more on a learning assessment that validates understanding in a specific subject matter area.
Demonstrated application of skills badges are awarded for successfully completing a hands-on challenge or application in a specific subject matter area.
What are the benefits of digital badges?
Simply put: badges help you differentiate yourself in the marketplace by documenting the resume-worthy skills and knowledge you've acquired. You'll stand out to peers, clients and employers with each badge you share on social media or email. Badges represent a way to demonstrate your newfound talents in a way that's simultaneously social and professional.
Key Benefits of Badges:
- Digitally represent your knowledge and skills
- Display your accomplishments in your email signature
- Visually depict your qualifications on social and professional networking sites like Twitter and LinkedIn
- Provide employers with verification of your knowledge and skills as opposed to text on your resume
- Build self-confidence and stand out because your accomplishments have been validated
How do I claim a digital badge?
Upon completion of the badge requirements for a course, Global Knowledge will send you an email asking you to claim your badge. The email will include a link to the Acclaim website powered by Pearson VUE, Global Knowledge's vendor and third party badge administrator. To manage and accept your badges, you'll need to create an ID and password with Acclaim. NOTE: Acclaim only uses details to facilitate the badge issuing process. If you do not wish to claim your badge, simply ignore the Acclaim email. If you choose to accept the badge, you'll be able to easily share with social media sites and send emails announcing your achievement.
A digital badge is a cutting edge method of demonstrating your professional commitment outside of a typical resume line item or a job title email signature. Instead, you can stand out and show off your achievements and skills to the world instead of simply telling about them.
