Abstract:
This certification prep guide provides an overview of the current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and offers helpful tips that students can use when preparing for the exam.
What is the Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification?
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) evolved from the early days in 1998 from being a network theoretical examination to become a more meaningful, practical exam. The evolution of the CCNA has transitioned from a single exam focused on the theory of routing and switching to become a more technology-focused exam, including tracks in routing and switching, data centers, service providers, security, collaboration, and wireless. Cisco introduced the most current version of the exam in February 2020. Evolving technologies is a significant component of the current version of the CCNA.
According to Cisco:
“The CCNA certification validates your skills and knowledge in network fundamentals, network access, IP connectivity, IP services, security fundamentals, and automation and programmability.”
