Just think of all the new technologies and best practices that have emerged since ITIL® v3 was released in 2006. The IT landscape has changed. Agile, DevOps, cloud computing, software-defined networking—all of these now need managing.
Well, we’ve got good news for you: ITIL is upgrading. Version 4 of the industry standard for service management was released Feb. 28, 2019 and specifically addresses the emerging technologies and best practices that accompany digital transformation.
So what should you do if you’re ITIL v3 certified? ITIL® 4 Foundation Bridge is a new Global Knowledge course that addresses the specific needs of professionals who have already achieved the ITIL v3 Foundation certification and wish to upgrade to ITIL 4.
What will you learn?
Students already ITIL v3 certified will learn the latest best practices in IT service management (ITSM), the new terminology that organizations are using within ITSM, and how DevOps, Agile, and Lean IT are affecting the ITSM domain. This bridge course will spotlight the key differences between ITIL v3 and ITIL 4, as well as provide instruction needed to pass the ITIL 4 certification exam.
Who should attend?
ITIL® 4 Foundation Bridge is designed for anyone who is ITIL v3 certified, or anyone who has certifications beyond ITIL v3 Foundation who wishes to proceed with an ITIL Managing Professional or ITIL Strategic Leader certification, both of which will be released in summer 2019. This course allows ITIL alumni to keep their certification current.
ITIL v3 and ITIL 4 have many overlapping subject areas. With this bridge course, ITIL-certified professionals can easily upgrade their skills to ITIL 4 without fully taking the Foundations course.
If you are not ITIL v3 certified, we recommend you sign up for our ITIL® 4 Foundation course.
What problems will this course solve?
ITIL v3 certified individuals will not have to retake the Foundations course. Instead, they can complete this one-day bridge course, which includes an ITIL 4 exam voucher. That means they’ll have the opportunity to leave this class ITIL 4 certified!
How will it impact your job and career?
ITIL certification demonstrates that professionals are educated in ITSM best practices and understand how to integrate those practices at an organizational level in order to save time, reduce waste and avoid costly IT rework.
IT professionals certified in ITIL are also typically paid well. ITIL v3 Foundation has consistently been one of the top-paying certifications over the past decade. ITIL v3 ranked 19th globally in salary in 2018 and ranked eighth in the U.S. in 2017.
As IT intersects more and more with the needs of the business, professionals with ITIL experience are more in-demand. ITIL 4 Foundation Bridge ensures that ITIL-certified professionals can upgrade their skills without having to start from scratch.
