Frequently asked questions about transitioning to a Virtual Classroom Live class from a private onsite, public classroom, or partner-delivered course.

 

Global Knowledge-delivered private, onsite training FAQ

1. I have a private, onsite classroom event scheduled for my employees prior to May 31, 2020. May we still conduct the class onsite?

Global Knowledge will make every effort to keep the classroom event as scheduled, but we are prepared to quickly convert to a virtual delivery, as required by the customer and as allowed by local market conditions and official advice. Global Knowledge has proactively added virtual options to all classroom onsite deliveries scheduled through the end of May. Classroom students will be provided virtual access to the course via their MyGK account automatically. Contact your Sales Representative to confirm session roster a minimum of 1 business day prior to the training session start date. Courses that include printed material will require student addresses for shipping purposes.

 

2. I have a private, onsite classroom event scheduled for my employees prior to May 31, 2020. May we convert the event to a Virtual Classroom-only event?

Global Knowledge is proactively adding virtual options to all in-person classroom onsite deliveries scheduled through the end of May. Given that this is an unprecedented situation, and subject to change by the hour, Global Knowledge is prepared to quickly convert to an all-virtual delivery, if that becomes preferred and/or required. If you would like to convert to a Virtual Classroom-only event, please contact your Sales Representative to request the change. Additional shipping information for students may be required.

 

3. Our company has a private, onsite classroom event scheduled and we must cancel the event. Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

Specific cancellation terms may be outlined in your training agreement or master services agreement. Otherwise, standard Private Group Training cancellation policies apply.

Global Knowledge is proactively adding virtual options to all in-person classroom onsite deliveries scheduled through the end of May. As we are still able to deliver the same quality training you would receive in a classroom setting, contractual cancellation terms apply.

4. We have attendees who will have incurred travel expenses to attend an onsite session that is now being delivered via Virtual Classroom. Will Global Knowledge reimburse attendee travel costs?

Customers with existing travel reservations are encouraged to cancel or reschedule their travel. Many major airlines and hotels are allowing cancellations in light of current circumstances. In the event that an attendee opts to travel, they will be able to attend their Virtual Classroom event from their destination hotel room or other location.

 

5. If we convert an existing classroom onsite that includes a paper-based exam to a virtual session, how will the exam be administered?

In the event that a Private Group Training sessions includes in-class testing, Global Knowledge will provide exam vouchers for students to sit their exam at a local accredited certification exam proctoring center when conditions allow.

 

Global Knowledge-delivered public, open enrollment course events FAQ

1. I am currently scheduled for a Classroom Live training event. Will I still be able to attend in-person?

We will continue to monitor customer feedback, official guidance and market conditions to inform additional actions. However, local market conditions and instructions from local and national safety advisory groups may inform decisions to transition from in-person to Virtual Classroom delivery. In the event that a local delivery must be transitioned to Virtual Classroom, Global Knowledge will send an alert, followed by enrollment adjustment communications. Contact your Sales Representative for more information or to make additional adjustments to your enrollment.

 

2. I am currently confirmed for a classroom event prior to May 31, 2020, and would like to attend the course virtually, instead. What do I need to do to change my enrollment from a classroom event to a virtual event?

All Classroom events are supported with Virtual Classroom capabilities. Students who wish to attend exclusively via Virtual Classroom will be transitioned at no charge. Contact your Sales Representative to re-enroll in the Virtual Classroom session. Courses that include printed material will require student addresses for shipping purposes.

3. I would like to cancel my enrollment in an upcoming Classroom Live training session. Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

Global Knowledge is proactively adding virtual options to all classroom deliveries scheduled through the end of May. We are still able to deliver the same quality training you would receive in a classroom setting, so standard cancellation terms continue to apply.

Partner-delivered events FAQ

ASPE

1. I am scheduled to attend a classroom event delivered by ASPE. Is there a virtual option available?

ASPE is currently converting all public classroom events scheduled through April 30, 2020, to virtual public events. You will be emailed a cancellation notification for the classroom event, followed by an email confirmation for the classroom event by both ASPE and Global Knowledge. If a student attends a virtual class and is unhappy with the experience, ASPE will seat them in a future classroom event when they become available.

Recently, Scrum Alliance, the certifying body for CSM, CSPO, A-CSM, A-CSPO, etc., has approved for these classes to be delivered virtually. ASPE is currently working on the steps to setup virtual sessions that will allow students to receive the training with the same trainer, quality, and certification they would have obtained from the in-person class.

 

2. We have scheduled a private, onsite classroom event to be delivered by ASPE. May we convert the training to a virtual classroom?

ASPE is able to offer virtual options for most of their classroom courses. To find out if your course is available and can be delivered in a virtual format contact your Global Knowledge Sales Representative and they will assist you with requesting a virtual option.

 

Cisco Learning Services (HTD)

1. I am scheduled to attend a classroom event delivered by Cisco Learning Services (HTD) prior to April 30, 2020. Is there a virtual option available?

Cisco will be converting all their instructor-led training courses between now and April 30, 2020, to virtual instructor-led training. You will receive an email from Cisco HTD informing you of your reenrollment into the VILT event. Global Knowledge will also be sending a cancellation notice for the classroom event, followed by a confirmation letter for the corresponding VILT session that you will be moved to as an alternative to the classroom event.

 

2. We have scheduled a private, onsite classroom event to be delivered by Cisco Learning Services (HTD). May we convert the training to a virtual classroom?

Cisco is able to offer virtual options for most of their classroom courses. To find out if your course is available and can be delivered in a virtual format contact your Global Knowledge Sales Representative and they will assist you with requesting a virtual option.

 

Red Hat

1. I am scheduled to attend a Red Hat classroom event prior to April 24, 2020. Is there a virtual option available?

Red Hat, along with their delivery team, continues to monitor communications from the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control. In an abundance of caution and in consideration of their students’ and instructors’ safety, all of their open enrollment courses from March 30, 2020 to April 24 2020 will be delivered in a virtual format. In the coming weeks, Red Hat will determine the path post-April 24, 2020.

For classes through March 27, 2020: Red Hat is currently offering virtual options for their classroom events (offering C +V options). RedHat is sending out communications directly to enrolled students letting them know that they have the option to attend their classroom event virtually.
