CCNA Routing and Switching Boot Camp (CCNAX) combines ICND1 and ICND2
The CCNAX - CCNA Routing and Switching Boot Camp is a great option to obtain Cisco Routing and Switching skills while pursuing the CCNA Routing and Switching certification. But be prepared—it is an intense, extended-hours experience. With so much content to cover, the CCNAX boot camp moves quickly. Students should expect to be in class for 12 hours per day for five days.
The CCNAX Boot Camp is not right for everyone
There are two approaches to acquire basic Cisco networking skills and pursue CCNA Routing and Switching certification. While the CCNAX boot camp is an intense, accelerated path to certification, the traditional path, featuring ICND1 and ICND2 scheduled separately, offers students a slower pace and additional time to digest the content. While ICND1 and ICND2 aren’t easy, they do allow less experienced students an option more aligned with their skill level. So if you’re intimidated by the pace of CCNAX, or simply don’t have the experience, the traditional path is a proven option.
What will you learn?
CCNAX is a composite course derived from ICND1 and ICND2 content merged into a single accelerated course. Overlapping content is eliminated and some content is rearranged for the purpose of course flow.
Students will learn how to install, operate, configure, and troubleshoot basic IPv4 and IPv6 networks, including configuring a LAN switch, configuring an IP router, identifying basic security threats, understanding redundant topologies, troubleshooting common network issues, connecting to a WAN, configuring EIGRP and OSPF in both IPv4 and IPv6, understanding wide-area network technologies, and getting familiar with device management and Cisco licensing.
This course will enable you to:
- Prepare for the CCNA Routing and Switching certification
- Operate a medium-sized LAN with multiple switches, supporting VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree
- Understand the interactions and network functions of firewalls, wireless controllers and access points
- Develop core routing and switching networking skills to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco networks
- Understand QoS, virtualization, cloud services, and network programmability related to WAN, access and core segments
- Support Cisco network deployments and maintain an ongoing operational network
Who should attend the CCNAX Boot Camp?
The CCNAX boot camp is perfect for experienced network administrators, engineers, and designers interested in understanding and managing Cisco network deployments. It is excellent preparation for the CCNA Routing and Switching certification exam.
As an accelerated course, students need to be ready for a lot of information and long days. If you don’t have substantial network experience, you will struggle with this course. The traditional path, ICND1 and ICND2, is a great option for moderately experienced students.
Students are expected to have at least one year of networking experience and a firm understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networks, a basic knowledge of network subnetting and IP routing, and a working knowledge of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
Get certified!
The CCNAX boot camp will prepare you for the CCNA Routing and Switching exam (200-125 CCNA). Just like the boot camp, the exam is accelerated and fulfills your CCNA Routing and Switching requirement with a single exam. Note, the traditional learning path requires two courses (ICND1 and ICND2) and two exams (100-105 ICND1 and 200-105 ICND2) to qualify for the CCNA Routing and Switching certification.
