Nov. 11, 2013

CARY, N.C. - Global Knowledge today announced it has won Silver in the Made in the USA category of the 5th Annual Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards. The worldwide leader in IT and business skills training, Global Knowledge was honored for its participation in President Obama's IT Training and Certification Program, a broad IT industry partnership that has enabled exiting military service members to obtain gap training and earn industry-recognized IT certifications required for high-demand IT jobs.

Since First Lady Michelle Obama announced the IT Training and Certification Program on April 29, 2013, Global Knowledge has provided 500 training scholarships, along with program management coordination. Overall, the program has provided more than 1,200 scholarships to eligible military personnel.

The Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards program was created to honor the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and individuals from all over the world. Award categories include New Products and Services, Management and Professionals, and Product Management and Development. The Made in the USA category honors products or services whose significant parts and processing originate in the United States.

"We are thrilled to be recognized with a Golden Bridge award for our contribution to the president's IT Training and Certification Program," said Chris Gosk, Vice President of Content and Learning Services at Global Knowledge and a driving force behind the company's role in the program. "It is an honor and a privilege to participate in this remarkable program that has helped so many of our exiting military personnel obtain the gap training and credentials they need to start rewarding careers in the private sector. We look forward to continuing to provide leadership and support for this initiative as it expands going forward."
