This all-inclusive e-learning solution provides a foundational understanding of network Layers 1–3 that are applicable to core routing and switching plus other advanced technologies. Several topics have been added in the latest version, including understanding the interactions and network functions of firewalls, wireless controllers and access points, along with additional focus on IPv6 and basic network security. All configuration commands are introduced through examples and supported with lab exercises.

Course content is presented in easily-consumable segments via both Instructor Video and text. Interactivity is enabled through Discovery labs, content review questions, and graded Challenge labs and tests. This makes the learning experience hands-on, increasing course effectiveness, and provides students direct feedback on how well they have mastered the material. Gamification features are built in, including earning badges and a leaderboard, to encourage better performance.

Recommended preparation for exam(s):

  • 100-105 - ICND1 Introduction to Cisco Network Devices Part 1

OR

  • 200-125 - CCNA - This is a composite exam consisting of both ICND1 & ICND2

Note: Passing the ICND1 exam (100-105) results in the award of the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification. Students taking the composite exam will only be awarded the CCNA Routing and Switching Certification , they will not be awarded the CCENT certification.

      Recertification

      CCENT certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass either the ICND1 or ICND2 exam, or pass the current CCNA Routing and Switching exam, or pass a CCNA Concentration exam (wireless, security, voice), or pass any 642-XXX professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam.
