ITIL® 4 is the evolution of the well-established ITIL® framework. This framework enables service providers to gain optimal value from IT-enabled products and services and equips them with a clear capability model aligned to an organisation’s strategy and customer needs.

The ITIL® 4 certification scheme consists of two major designations:

  • ITIL® 4 Managing Professional
  • ITIL® 4 Strategic Leader

ITIL® 4 Foundation is the pre-requisite certification for all of the ITIL® 4 Managing Professional and Strategic Leader Certifications. 

It is for anyone working within the IT function who needs to understand the key concepts of IT and digital service delivery and is interested in helping their organisation address new service management challenges. It is for professionals at the start of their ITIL® 4 journey or those looking to upgrade their existing ITIL® knowledge.

The ITIL® 4 Managing Professional designation provides practical and technical knowledge about how to run successful IT-enabled services, teams, and workflows, for a variety of professionals working in IT, IT service management (ITSM) and other digital roles across the business.  It is comprised of the following four certifications:

The ITIL® 4 Strategic Leader designation will enable current and aspiring leaders to recognise the value of adopting and adapting ITIL® for all IT-enabled products and services, not just IT operations.

This designation will also help professionals to understand how IT can influence and shape business strategy and provide guidance on managing and operationalising the strategy across the organisation. It is comprised of the following two certifications:
