Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate
As cybersecurity attack complexity increases, organizations require persistent security expertise.
The Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification program prepares IT professionals for associate-level job roles in security operations centers (SOCs). The program has one training course and one exam that covers the foundational skills, processes, and knowledge you need to prevent, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents as part of a SOC team.
The CyberOps Associate certification and training covers these topics:
- Security concepts
- Security monitoring
- Host-based analysis
- Network intrusion analysis
- Security policies and procedures
New topics include access control models for digital assets, malware analysis and interpretation, identifying protected data, and understanding key SOC metrics to expedite detection and containment of breaches.

Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites for CyberOps Associate certification, but you should have an understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.
Recommended Courses
Recertification
The CyberOps certification is valid for three years.
Certification holders can recertify by:
- Passing any one associate exam
- Passing any one professional concentration exam
- Passing one technology core exam
- Passing one CCIE lab exam
- Earning 30 continuing education credits
The recertification requirements must be met prior to the certification expiration date. Individuals with expired certifications must repeat the entire certification exam process in order to regain their certification status. Learn more at the Cisco website.
