The OpenStack Foundation has developed the Certified OpenStack Administrator exam which offers a career-path based certification for OpenStack professionals testing the skills required to provide day to day operation and management of an OpenStack cloud.

Prerequisites

  • IT professionals who want to demonstrate their hands-on knowledge of OpenStack
  • OpenStack experts who want to demonstrate their OpenStack skills
  • Linux System Administrators or equivalent skills are recommended

Required Exams

Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA) exam

The specific content areas (knowledge domains) and specific tasks include:

  • OpenStack APIs
  • Identity management - 15%
  • Compute - 35%
  • Object Storage - 5%
  • Block Storage - 10%
  • Networking - 30%

The exam contains hands on questions with the real OpenStack environment and is 3 hours.
