Internal Account Manager

Overview of Job Role

To build, with the direction of your line manager, a new business pipeline and incremental engagements from a defined set of new focus accounts. To deliver detailed account support for a leading client in conjunction with contracted terms.

Key Objectives

  • Understand the Company’s portfolio, capability and processes
  • Provide an optimal customer experience with the direction of your Account Lead
  • Proactively ensure service levels and reporting requirements are compliant with contracted obligations
  • Build and maintain qualitative relationships both internally and with clients
  • Build pipeline of profitable business within a new business client base and, generate no less than 5 qualified opportunity meetings per month for your Account Lead
  • Utilise your interpersonal skills and commercial knowledge to understand the client’s buying process and competitive situation
  • Understand the leading vendors and their account managers
  • Display understanding of the Company’s third parties curriculum, sourcing process and costs
  • Report weekly on opportunity, activity and pipeline management utilising CRM at all times
  • Follow up and record outcome of all marketing or event generated tasks and leads

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Operate at multiple levels within the customer organisation understanding the client’s way of working as a priority
  • Develop new business opportunities within existing customer and new target account
  • Book qualified meetings in line with management direction within the focus accounts
  • Expedite and escalate leads in line with client expectation
  • Utilise contract pricing to provide quotations and manage these through to confirmation
  • Engage with learners post event to determine feedback and on/up-sell
  • Meet with customers when appropriate to help cement relationships and provide cover
  • Manage the compilation of spend reports or data to support clients in line with contracted obligations
  • Work with management to ensure accurate and profitable quotations
  • Update CRM system with accurate and up to date details of activity, customer profiles and enquiry status

Experience / Qualifications Required

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previously worked with enterprise accounts preferably across geographies
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
  • Proven success of working to and delivering against targets (KPI and/or revenue)
  • Displays resilience, passion and an ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated capability in building and maintaining successful relationships
  • Experience of working in a margin focused organisation
