For those looking to deepen their understanding of data security, Skillsoft Global Knowledge offers the course Information Security Administrator (SC-401). This will replace the course Administering Information Protection and Compliance in Microsoft 365 (SC-400) on May 30, 2025.
The SC-400 Certification included two separate roles—data security/information protection professionals and compliance professionals—and each role should have its own validation solution. Therefore, Microsoft has not created a new Certification for compliance-related roles, instead, they offer Microsoft Applied Skills that can validate these skills.
Course SC-401 emphasizes administering information security in Microsoft 365, including managing risks, alerts, and activities.
