Renew your Microsoft certification for free through Microsoft Learn

Microsoft is offering a temporary alternative to renew your certification for free with an assessment on the Microsoft Learn platform.
Cloud computing is developing so rapidly, that it is no longer useful to validate a certification for a lifetime. Therefore, Microsoft has given their role-based certifications a validation time. The Associate and Specialty role-based certifications are valid for 1 calendar year, but what do you do after that year?
Renew your certification through Microsoft Learn
In March 2021, almost all of these Microsoft certifications will have the option to renew through a free assessment via Microsoft Learn. If your certification is about to expire, you will be notified by Microsoft and they will tell you how you can take your recertification.
The first assessments to renew your certification via Microsoft Learn will be available in March 2021. The Microsoft certifications it applies to are:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Marketing Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Sales Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Field Service Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate
No guarantee you will recertify
There is no guarantee that renewing your certification next year will be easy. For several certifications, new Microsoft exams have been introduced and the content has changed considerably compared to the previous exams.
