Symantec Certified Professional - SCP

The second step to proving technical knowledge and competency is by becoming a Symantec Certified Professional (SCP) based on a specific area of solution expertise with multiple Symantec products.The SCP program validates skills and technical competencies necessary for Symantec professionals to design, architect, and implement multiple solutions in data protection, high availability, and/or security environments. To achieve this level of certification, candidates must pass two or more SCS exams, pass one SCP exam, and/or provide proof of the program’s required third party vendor-neutral industry recognized prerequisite.

Education Training Paths and Exams

The Education Training Paths are recommended learning paths. The sequence in which courses are listed is designed to maximise your learning by starting with conceptual baseline skills and then expanding with advanced and optional topic areas. The Training Paths are designed to assist you in determining which courses will best meet your needs based on your current skill level--enabling you to assess your skills and enter at the appropriate level in the path.

To become Symantec certified, candidates must pass exam(s) available through Pearson VUE testing centers. To assist in preparation for the certification exams, candidates are strongly encouraged to attend training course(s), in addition to meeting any necessary prerequisites, on-the-job experience, and study.

Cloud Security

Although security solutions in cloud environments vary in complexity and depth, the SCP in Cloud Security 1.0 certification exam (850-001) validates that the IT professional has the technical knowledge and competency to design and architect a company’s data security strategy in the cloud.

The SCP in Cloud Security 1.0 certification exam will cover core elements of risk assessment, cloud integration strategy and deployment options, as well as product-specific and non-product-specific cloud security solutions.
