"The MS-700 course was very useful for my work"

Lisa Knegten, Business Productivity Specialist at Tredion, attended the four day Managing Microsoft Teams (MS-700) course in April at Global Knowledge. ‘The module Security & Compliance mainly gave me valuable new insights. Customers of the medium-sized company I work at profit from these insights.”

As a Business Productivity Specialist Lisa advises diverse small to medium-sized enterprises (law firms, professional services and childcare organisations for example) about how they can optimally design the functional part of their IT. “My work is about: Where do I put files? Who can access which information? How do I optimize my processes? Etc.”

Why did you decide to take the Managing Microsoft Teams course at Global Knowledge?

“My manager asked me if I wanted to join this course. I already worked often with Teams and knew a lot about it, but I learned everything from myself. I would like to hear the ins and outs from a specialist and saw this as a good preparation for the exam I would like to take this summer. I like to learn this way, it works well for me.”

In which format was the course offered?

“It was a four day instructor led training course that ran from Monday until Thursday. These classes took place online. First, we ran through the theory and afterwards we started practising. I took the course with participants from ten different organizations. There was room for questions and the sessions were very interactive. We started every day at nine and finished around four o’clock in the afternoon. Our lunch breaks were slightly longer and we also had two short breaks were necessary, because you can’t always stay focussed.”

What did you think of the quality of the training course?

“I was happy with the course quality. I already knew a lot about Teams, but learned new things during the training course.”

“There was a separate module about Security & Compliance. The emphasis in this module was on securing documents, labelling and indexing information etc. That was an eye opener for me. I benefit from this knowledge at work. The medium-size enterprises I work with struggle with the implementation of the GDPR for example. You have to start thinking about labelling and indexing in Teams early on, that can save you a lot of work later on.”

What were the highlights of this course?

“The trainer was an expert on the matter and he could explain the theory well. There was a nice balance between theory and hands-on practical assignments. The participants also had a say in what was taught and we have discussed all the Teams modules. For the exam we have to read a thick book, but we worked through this book quickly in the course.

Therefor I have a better idea of what I can expect at the exam. I will look for exam questions to prepare my exam with, because there was no time to practice these during the course.

Would you recommend the Managing Microsoft Teams (MS-700) course?

‘Absolutely! I thought I already knew a lot about Teams, but I learned plenty of new things. The MS-700 course was very useful for my work.”

Which training do you want to attend next?

“First I’m going to study for my exam and pass it before the Summer. The certificate is important to me, but also important to Tredion. After I have passed the exam, I will most likely attend a Microsoft course again. At Tredion, we think it’s important to keep developing ourselves, that’s something I also see in myself. We do this by attending multiple Microsoft exams per year.”
