2019 was a great year for ITIL. The ITIL4 Foundation course was the most popular Global Knowledge training course of the year. Global Knowledge course instructor Karel Höster looks back on what was essentially the year of ITIL4 and predicts 2020: what can we expect of ITIL in the new year?

2019 was the year the world met the new edition of Best Practice ITIL. ITIL4 became a hot topic on LinkedIn. At the start of 2019, the first ITIL4 Foundation training courses were given. ITIL4 Foundation was the most popular training course of the year.
With their knowledge of Guiding Principles, Service Value System and the Service Value Chain, attendees of the ITIL courses boost their organization.

ITIL Managing Professional Transition training

In October, a second training course was added to the portfolio of ITIL4 training courses: the ITIL Managing Professional Transition training course. This is a 'Bridge' training course for ITIL Experts or almost ITIL Experts (17 credits). Global Knowledge was one of the first training course providers to prepare participants to their transition to ITIL Managing Professional. In 2020, Global Knowledge will offer additional ITIL-training courses as one of the first IT-training companies in the business.

ITIL4 Managing Professional module Create, Deliver en Support

From mid January you can enroll for an English-language course where you learn how to develop, support and deliver a service. This is the ITIL4 Managing Professional module Create, Deliver and Support.
The duration of this training course is three days. At the end of the course, you can take an exam. However, you can only participate if you've already gotten the ITIL4 Foundation certificate. This training course has little to no technical elements and it's mainly about the conditions that are necessary to co-create value efficiently during the design, delivery and support of the service.
During this training course, value streams are also discussed. You use these streams in your own organization. The ITIL4 Managing Professional Module Create, Deliver and Support isn't only useful for IT-personnel, but also for managers.

ITIL4 Managing Professional module Direct, Plan and Improve

During this training course, you'll learn about the strategic side of Service Management. In three days, we'll introduce the participant to the world of:
  • Strategy and governance
  • Assessment and planning
  • Communication and Organization Change Management
  • Measurements, reports and improvements
  • Implement an ITIL Service Value System

This training course is a must-have for the decision makers in your organization like the managers, the architects, the team leads and the coordinators.

Will we see you back in the classroom in 2020?
