Get used to the new Microsoft exam prefixes
- Date: 04 March, 2019
Microsoft Professionals who are used to maintaining their certification level for years knew the exam codes by heart. In recent years these have more or less synchronised with the course numbers from the Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC). These exams were usually provided with a code such as 070-740. Many will recognize this exam number as the first exam for MCSA Windows Server 2016. Microsoft has further refined this structure. The exam codes are no longer preceded by 070, but by the category in which the exam falls. For example, Azure exams are preceded by "AZ" followed by the exam number. Exams AZ-100 and AZ-101 are incredibly popular at the moment and already done by an incredible number of people. Microsoft Windows 10 exams are now preceded by "MD", from Modern Desktop, Microsoft 365 exams for Sharepoint, Exchange and Office365 by "MS" and soon also exams for SQL Server and Data Professionals by "DP". The exam for Artificial Intelligence is logically preceded by "AI".
