Participants who pass the ISTQB Mobile Application Testing exam are able to achieve the following business objectives:

• Understand and assess business and technology drivers for mobile apps to develop a testing strategy;
• Identify and understand the key challenges, risks and expectations associated with testing a mobile application;
• Apply test types and levels specific to mobile applications;
• Apply commonly used test types, as listed in the 2018 ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level syllabus, in the mobile-specific context;
• Perform the activities specifically required for mobile application testing as part of the main activities of the ISTQB® testing process;
• Identify and use appropriate environments and appropriate tools for testing mobile applications;
• Understand methods and tools specific to supporting mobile application testing.
  

Chapter 1:

How mobile analytics data can be used as input to the testing strategy and plan. Followed by the creation of a testing strategy and the challenges and risks of mobile testing.

Chapter 2:

Testing functional and non-functional features such as, displays, input sensors, input methods, interrupts, permissions, power consumption, notification, shortcuts, interoperability, coexistence with other apps, connectivity, installation, stress, security, performance, usability, globalisation and localisation, accessibility, app store approval.

Chapter 3:

The different testing approaches with Personas, Heurisics, Tours and Session-based test management.

Chapter 4:

The world of development platforms and tools, emulators and simulators and setting up a test lab.

Chapter 5:

The methods by which you could apply test automation.

This foundation training contains the basics in mobile testing for native and hybrid app testers as well as web app testers. Next to theory, the training contains a lot of interaction, which makes it easier to make the learned knowledge your own. By means of a number of trial exams, the participant gets the opportunity to prepare well for the exam. At the end of the training course, you will receive a voucher which you can use to take the online exam. This exam is in English, multiple choice.
