These are the new features in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft announced new features and functionality in Microsoft Teams this week. Part of these features are meant to use at work, but Microsoft has also added functionality to Teams' personal mode.

Webinars for up to 20.000 participants

This week, Microsoft announced you can now give interactive webinars in Microsoft Teams to up to 1000. View only-webinars are available for up to 20.000 people. At the end of the year, this number will be set back to 10.000 participants.

If you work with the marketing solutions of Microsoft Dynamics 365, you can easily follow up your webinar afterwards with automatic campaigns or customer journeys. These are both available in your Microsoft Teams environment. Learn more about these new marketing solutions in this article.

Last month, Microsoft implemented the option to transcribe your meetings in Teams. With this functionality, you can read along with what the presenter is saying in real-time. If you are late from your meeting, catching up is easy because you can read the transcript. (Note that this functionality is only available in English).

Present like a pro with presenter mode

Microsoft has also updated presenter mode. With the new features in PowerPoint Live and Presenter, you can engage participants even more in your presentation.

Presenters can show upcoming slides, moderate the meeting chat and share notes - all in the same screen. You can also decide what our presentation looks like to the participants. The presenter can put their video stream next to the presentation, in front of the presentation but you can also make it look like you are the presenter of a talk show. Participants can click through the presented content at their own pace. Soon, Microsoft will also release Slide Translation. With Slide Translation, everyone can view the presentation in their own language.

Use Microsoft Teams to meet up with family and friends

Microsoft has also made the Teams platform more interesting to use outside of work. If you click your icon in the Teams window, you can add a personal account.

With this personal account you can start video conversations with friends and family. You can make these video calls look like you're together in the same room (together mode). During the video calls, you can use emoji's and gifs to react to what is said. Want to make plans? Use polls in your group chats.
