AWS has implemented a change in its certification program that offers candidates more flexibility in obtaining a Professional or Specialty certification.
The change means that candidates who pursue an Architect, Developer or Operations and / or an Advanced Networking, Big Data or Security Specialty certification are no longer required to first obtain certification at the Associate level. The change is effective from 11 October 2018.
Because of this change in the AWS certification program you have the choice how to prepare for a Professional or Specialty certification. However, it is still advisable to choose one of the recommended AWS learning paths to validate your skills.
