Making a certification valid for life isn't that interesting anymore, because of the rapid speed cloud is developing in. Because of this, Microsoft has decided to give their role-based certifications an expiration date.

The Associate and Specialty certifications are valid for one year. But how do you extend your certification after this year has passed?

Extend your certification via Microsoft Learn

For almost all these certifications that are about to expire, Microsoft has made it possible to extend them for free via an assessment on Microsoft Learn. If your certification is about to expire, Microsoft will get in touch with you. In the message Microsoft sends you, they will tell you what you need to do to extend your certification.

The first assessments for certifications that are about to expire will become available on Microsoft Learn in March. These are the certifications the offer applies to:
