FinOps, or “Cloud Financial Operations” is the practice of bringing financial accountability to the variable spend model of cloud, enabling distributed teams to make business trade-offs between speed, cost, and quality.

The FinOps Certified Practitioner certification (FOCP) allows individuals in a large variety of cloud, finance and technology roles to validate their FinOps knowledge and enhance their professional credibility.

The certification is designed for senior professionals who desire validate a solid understanding of FinOps and how it’s applied to enhance business value from cloud spend. Organizations undergoing a public cloud-first strategy or who are in the midst of a public cloud migration will also benefit greatly.

The certification covers FinOps fundamentals and an overview of key concepts in each of the three sections of the FinOps lifecycle: Inform, Optimize and Operate.

About the Examination

  • You have 12 months to pass the exam
  • You have three attempts to pass the exam within 12 months of the purchase date
  • A passing grade is 75% 
  • The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions
  • The exam time limit is 1 hour
  • You are not proctored while taking the exam

After passing the Exam, the FinOps Certified Practitioner Certification is valid for 24 months.

If you pass the exam, you will be emailed a certificate immediately following the exam, with a unique code in the bottom left corner.

This certificate proves that you are a Certified FinOps Practitioner.

Additionally, you will receive a digital FinOps Certified Practitioner Credly badge to display on your LinkedIn account.
