The Cisco Certified Design Professional certification builds on the design principles introduced in CCDA and demonstrates that you are an experienced design professional with progressive end-to-end network design skills that enable today's networks to deliver the performance, availability and scalability requirements required for the business now, whilst at the same time future-proofing investments.
The CCDP certification program focuses on advanced addressing and routing protocols, WANs, services virtualization and integration strategies for multi-layered enterprise architectures.
Prerequisites:
Valid Cisco CCDA and CCNA Routing and Switching Certification or a Cisco CCIE Certification in any track is requiredfor achieving this certification.

CCDP Recertification
Cisco Professional-level certifications (CCDP, CCNP Cloud, CCNP Collaboration, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNP Security, CCNP Service Provider, and CCNP Wireless) are valid for three years.
To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:
- Pass any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, or
- Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
- Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
- Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications
