Course Objectives
Top- The participant will gain basic knowledge of the DAMA framework and its data management functions.
- The participant will be able to use E-R modeling to establish facts, relationships and rules between entities at different levels of detail, including conceptual and logical models.
- The participant knows how to use top-down and bottom-up approaches to initiate development of a data model and then elaborate means-out.
- The participant can apply data normalization in an ER model and relational database schema.
- The participant knows techniques to discover additional requirements and to implement business rules in the data model.
- The participant is able to 'read' a data model and communicate it to subject matter experts, using the appropriate terminology.
