Skillsoft Global Knowledge Launches Cloud Developing Pilot Training Program

Global Knowledge

On April 12th, SSC-ICT kicked off a promising pilot in the field of Cloud Developing. This pilot, which runs until the end of May, is funded by the European Union through Digital Europe within the European Software Skills Alliance (ESSA) consortium. Employees from two business units of SSC-ICT are participating in this innovative program to further develop their knowledge and skills in Cloud Developing.

Background of the ESSA Project

The ESSA project is an ambitious initiative that aims to develop sustainable training programs for Software Developer skills. With 26 European partners, including Skillsoft Global Knowledge, the project aims to address the current and future skills shortages in the European software sector. This is crucial to stimulate development and innovation in the IT sector.

The Role of Skillsoft Global Knowledge

As a leading training partner, Skillsoft Global Knowledge offers high-quality learning experiences to IT professionals. In this context, Skillsoft Global Knowledge has approached SSC-ICT to participate in the ESSA pilot. By participating in this pilot, Skillsoft Global Knowledge is offering SSC-ICT the opportunity to further expand its expertise in Cloud Developing and contribute to the development of sustainable skills.

Cloud Developing in the Spotlight

The focus of the pilot is on Cloud Developing. Participants in the pilot will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, architecture, and best practices. This will enable them to be better prepared for the challenges of the modern IT world and to contribute to innovative solutions.

The Cloud Developing Program

The Cloud Developing program consists of a 2-week training program.

The first part starts with a Developer Fundamentals program and consists of a combination of self-study in Percipio, Skillsoft's learning platform, with topics such as Programming Foundation, Web Basics, Database & SQL, and Software Architecture, Design, Development and SDLC.

In the second part of the training program, participants learn the basics of Cloud Developing. In groups, participants are taught how to apply the learned Developer skills from the first part of the training program in a cloud environment. In a classroom setting, on-site or virtually, participants are trained on topics such as Security of the Cloud, Identity and Access Management, Storage, Compute Services, Networking, Databases, Monitoring, Load Balancing, Scaling, and Infrastructure Protection.

Goal pilot

Participants in the pilot program are asked to critically evaluate the content of the program. The goal of the pilot with SSC-ICT is to test and further improve the training program developed by Skillsoft Global Knowledge.

The pilot program will be completed before the summer. The program is expected to be generally available in the second half of 2024.
