Why VMware and AWS are a match made in heaven

Global Knowledge

VMware Cloud on AWS is an integrated cloud-package developed by AWS and VMware. This package gives organizations the opportunity to migrate a VMware vSphere-based environment to the AWS-cloud with a scaleable, safe and innovative service. The AWS-cloud uses the next generation Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) infrastructure.

The servers that are used in this process are based in an AWS-datacenter and based on VMware’s ESXi, vSAN and NSX. VMware Cloud on AWS also uses the known vSphere management interface. The difference is that the virtual systems immediately start on the cluster that is based in the cloud. You can link the services that AWS provides via AWS’ internal network without additional costs.

VMware Cloud on AWS is ideal for enterprise IT-infrastructure and operational organizations. VMware cloud on AWS works for organizations that want to migrate their vSphere based workloads to the public cloud, that want to consolidate and expand their datacenter-capacities and that want to optimize, simplify and modernize their disaster recovery solutions.
