Advanced Certificate of Completion in Program Management

The Program Management Professional Development Program offers an array of courses that support the Project Management Institute's (PMI's) project management body of knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) areas and The Standard for Program Management, as well as other key business skill areas determined to be critical to successful program management.

To earn an Advanced Certificate of Completion in Program Management, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Complete Program Prerequisites*
  • Complete a minimum of seven courses, totaling a minimum of 18 days of training, within four years
  • Pass the final test at the end of each course with a minimum grade of 70%
  • Attend at least 90% of class time

 

NOTE: The Advanced Certificate of Completion in Program Management does not carry academic credit towards McMaster University's Management Studies Diploma

Prerequisites

Project Management Education (one of the following):

  • Global Knowledge's Advanced Certificate of Completion in Project Management or IT Project Management
  • Certificate in project management from an organization that has been approved by Global Knowledge
  • PMP® Certification
  • Project management certification from a formal, client-sponsored, internal certification program that has been approved by Global Knowledge

Start by taking the following Program Management course which is aligned with PMI's The Standard for Program Management and includes units devoted to each phase of the program life cycle:

Then you must take two of the following Program Management Core courses:

Then you must take two of the following Program Management Elective courses:

Finally, you must take two of the Core or Elective courses listed above.

 

Upon successful completion of the program, you will earn an Advanced Certificate of Completion in Program Management awarded by the McMaster University Centre for Continuing Education.

Next Steps

Transfer of Credits between Advanced Certificates:

  • Students may apply up to two courses from the first Advanced Certificate to the second Advanced Certificate.
