MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014
Earning the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): SQL Server 2012 certification confirms that you have the essential skills needed to develop and maintain mission-critical Microsoft SQL Server 2012 environments. MCSA: SQL Server 2012 certification is your first step towards earning an MCSE: Data Platform certification or an MCSE: Business Intelligence certification.
Note: To reflect the inclusion of SQL Server 2014 content in exams 461, 462, and 463, Microsoft Learning has rebranded the MCSA certification to MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014. As changes to each individual exam are modest in size and SQL Server 2012 skills remain relevant, all current MCSA: SQL Server 2012 certification holders will have their transcripts updated accordingly to reflect the new credential name. Please see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mcsa-sql-certification.aspx for certification details.

Microsoft provides two re-certification options for those who want to demonstrate continues competence in these areas. You can demonstrate that you're staying current in the technology by either taking a re-certification exam or stay-current course within two years of earning your certification. As soon as you pass either the course or the exam, the expiration date on your certification will be extended two years from that date.
