This course is designed to introduce business professionals the skills they need to use the functions, and core features of the Extended Sites model that is provided by IBM WebSphere Commerce Feature Pack 7.
The skills that are developed in this course enable WebSphere Commerce business users to determine why, and when they can use the Extended Sites model of the WebSphere Commerce. The course indicates the difference between the traditional model, and the Extended Sites model. The course begins with an overview of the Extended Sites. It introduces the students to different scenarios for using the Extended Sites, and the components of Extended Sites solution. Subsequent units cover Extended Sites organization structure, and its access control policies, extended sites hub, types of asset stores, and user accesses to asset stores, brief description of how to set up extended sites environment, and the Management Center Tools used to perform key tasks in extended sites such as working with asset stores, creating business objects like catalog content, marketing content, promotions, and more.
Sample demonstrations that are provided facilitate students to understand the interaction between different Management Center Tools, and the users. The illustration focuses on topics relevant to the business scenarios that can be addressed by the Extended Sites solution.
