Exclusive Cisco Unified Communications Training from Global Knowledge

Cary, N.C. - October 27, 2009 - Global Knowledge today announced the availability of two Global Knowledge-exclusive Cisco Unified Communications training courses designed specifically for administrators of Cisco Unified Communications products.

In the entry-level Administering Cisco Unified Communications Workspace Part 1: Basic (ACUCW1), students will learn to administer the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) v6 and v7 products, Cisco Unified Messaging products Unity 5.0 and Unity Connection 7.0, and client devices. They will learn how to access the CUCM administrative pages to perform moves, adds, and changes of Cisco IP Phones, how to configure users, and how to configure phones and users for Class of Service. Students will learn to configure simple features, such as Do Not Disturb, MeetMe Conferencing, Shared Lines, and Barge, and they will learn to access CUCM user web pages. ACUCW1 students will build a voice mail menu system and learn to configure voice mail capabilities for users.

Administering Cisco Unified Communications Workspace Part 2: Advanced (ACUCW2) builds on the foundation provided by ACUCW1 and focuses on the advanced administration aspects of the CUCM v6 and v7 products and client devices. Students will learn how to configure the system from the ground up to provide a working dial plan with advanced features such as time-of-day routing. Students will gain an understanding of mobility features used in networks with multiple sites, and they will learn to use bandwidth management and call admission control tools to manage a network with multiple sites. Students will learn to integrate a Cisco Unified Presence Server, deploy the Cisco Unified Personal Communicator client and deskphone control, and configure media resources to enable Music On Hold and conferencing, and students will learn about Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing. Students enrolling in this advanced Cisco Unified Communications training course should have experience performing basic CUCM administrative tasks and should have had exposure to the CUCM Administrative GUI.

Both Cisco Unified Communications training courses are available in Global Knowledge classrooms and as private, on-site courses that can be tailored to the needs of your organization. Since the courses focus on administration, no router configuration experience is needed for either.
