Oracle 10g Application Server: Administration II

Oracle Database 10g is the first database designed for grid computing, the most flexible and cost-effective way to manage enterprise information. It cuts costs of management while providing the highest possible quality of service.

In addition to providing numerous quality and performance enhancements, Oracle Database 10g significantly reduces the costs of managing the IT environment, with a simplified install, greatly reduced configuration and management requirements, and automatic performance diagnosis and SQL tuning.

This course addresses the administration of Oracle's Application Server 10g.

This course is focused on:

  • Managing Customized Topologies and Distributing Infrastructure Components
  • High Availability
  • Managing and Configuring Clusters
  • Business Intelligence Component Management
  • XML Applications, Web Services, and Monitoring
  • Tuning and Reconfiguring the Middle Tier
  • Backup and Recovery

What You'll Learn

  • Common deployment topologies and how to install and configure Oracle Application Server components to suit different needs
  • High availability and its importance from the perspective of application servers and the high availability features in Oracle Application Server at the OC4J level
  • Manage and configure clusters in OracleAS 10g
  • Business Intelligence components such as Oracle AS Discoverer and OracleAS Reports and how to deploy reports and forms applications to OracleAS
  • Deploy XML applications and web services with Oracle AS
  • The monitoring capabilities of Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control
  • Optimize the performance of Oracle Application Server components and perform reconfiguration tasks in the Oracle Application Server middle tier and infrastructure
