The VCDX program is designed for veteran professionals who want to validate and demonstrate their expertise in VMware virtual infrastructure. The elite group of design architects who have achieved VCDX certification, the highest-level VMware certification, are highly skilled in VMware enterprise deployments.

VMware Certified Design Expert on vSphere 5 - Datacenter Design

Choose one of two paths to become a VCDX5:

Upgrade from VCDX4

1. Be a current VCDX4 holder in good standing
2. Achieve VMware Certified Professional 5 - Datacenter Virtualization (VCP5-DV) certification
3. Pass the VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 - Datacenter Design (VCAP5-DCD) exam

Submit and defend an original vSphere design

1. Achieve VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 - Datacenter Administration (VCAP5-DCA) and VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 - Datacenter Design (VCAP5-DCD) certification
2. Submit a VCDX5 application that is accepted
3. Successfully present and defend a VMware vSphere-based virtual infrastructure design and implementation plan
